QUALITY OF FOOD MATTERS
Food is necessary for every living thing. Food refers to any substance that is consumed to provide nutritional support for an organism. It typically consists of plant or animal origin and contains essential nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohydrates or fats. It is so important, of course, we all know that. However, how many of us know if your diet also affects your emotions, behaviors or decision making as well as maintaining your health condition?
NO ADDED SUGAR IS MORE BENEFICIAL THAN YOU THINK
Controlling sugar intake and selecting higher-quality foods can significantly improve your health, stabilize your emotions, and enhance your concentration. This leads to improved performance in a variety of activities, including working performance, decision-making, reading/writing, and communication, and can also have a positive impact on children’s education and learning.
Many people are still drinking soft drinks, eating doughnuts, chips and ice creams. That sounds normal and like there is nothing wrong with that. However, if your brain, which controls your body’s sensory functions, has already been influenced by excessive sugar and low-quality food, you may not be aware of the negative effects.
So how do you make these changes? The moment you decide to do something, it’s time to begin. Start small by choosing three days a week to cut out sugar, then build up to a week and eventually two weeks. With persistence and determination, you’ll definitely experience the benefits of your efforts.
BENEFITS OF NOT EATING SUGAR
I have read and experienced that stopping the intake of added sugar is beneficial. Perhaps, its benefits are greater than you think. I took the first step towards better health by reducing my sugar intake. There are numerous benefits to cutting down on sugar. This is a general overview of the benefits of reducing sugar intake, as reported in books and on various websites.
Some of the most significant benefits are as follows. I will leave it to medical doctors and specialists to explain the individual details:
- Weight loss
- Improved heart health
- Better blood sugar control
- Better dental health
- Reduced risk of chronic diseases
- Improved emotional well-being
High blood sugar levels can cause the release of hormones such as insulin which can cause feelings of jitteriness or nervousness. Lowering your intake of sugar may improve emotional well-being.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU STOP EATING SUGAR?
The emotional impact is what we want to look at more closely. There is a relationship between blood sugar levels and emotions. Blood sugar, also known as glucose, is the main source of energy for the body’s cells. When blood sugar levels drop, the body may release stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol to raise them, which can lead to feelings of irritability, fatigue, and even depression. This is why many people may feel “Hangry” (angry or irritable due to hunger) when their blood sugar levels are low. On the other hand, when blood sugar levels are too high, it can lead to feelings of anxiety and nervousness. High blood sugar levels might cause the release of hormones such as insulin, which can cause feelings of jitteriness or nervousness.

MAINTAIN AN ALKALINE STATE IN YOUR BODY
It is said maintaining an alkaline state in the body is a commonly mentioned idea in alternative medicine and health circles, a diet high in animal products, sugar, and alcohol can contribute to an acidic state in the body. If you consume a variety of vegetables on a daily basis, it will naturally bring your body to an alkaline state.
Also, the evidence suggests it is true that cancer cells can use glucose as a source of energy. Here are a few references that support the statement that cancer cells can use glucose as a source of energy. If you have some spare time, please consider conducting your own research using the keywords provided below.

It is good to understand that the body has systems in place to balance the pH of the blood, which must stay within a specific, slightly alkaline range to promote good health. While an acidic diet can contribute to certain health concerns, it is not solely responsible for them.
BENEFICIAL VEGITABLES AND FRUITS FOR ALKALINE STATE
- Carrot
- Tomato
- Onion
- Lentil
- Lemon
- Lime
- Pineapple
- Raspberry
- Water melon
- Pumpkin seed
NOTE: Lemons and limes are actually considered to be alkaline-forming, despite having a high acidic content. This is because, once consumed and metabolized, they have an alkaline effect on the body’s pH levels.
FOOD INDUSTRY IS IN A TOUGH COMPETITION
The quality of food in the food industry can vary greatly, depending on factors such as the type of food, the source of ingredients, and the methods used in preparation and production. Some types of food are of high quality, while others are mass-produced and may contain lower-quality ingredients.
As for competition in the food business, it can be intense. With the growing number of food establishments and the increasing demand for diverse and high-quality food options, competition among restaurants, food manufacturers, and other food-related businesses has become fierce. Companies are constantly seeking ways to differentiate themselves and stand out in the market, whether through offering unique menu items, promoting sustainable and healthy ingredients, or using innovative food additives to keep the cost as lowest as possible.
While keeping costs low is a common strategy for increasing profit margins in any business, it’s important to consider the potential consequences of prioritizing profit over ethics in the food industry. Using low-quality ingredients or cutting corners on food safety and preparation standards can harm the reputation of your business and potentially harm customers.
I have heard some food companies use market research and sensory analysis to determine the optimal combination of ingredients and proportions that result in a pleasurable taste experience for consumers. The goal is often to create products that are appealing and satisfying, and that customers will want to purchase again and again.
These practices have been criticized for contributing to unhealthy eating habits and the over-consumption of processed foods. Additionally, some food companies have been accused of using excessive amounts of sugar, salt, and fat in their products to make them more addictive and appealing to consumers.
It is important for consumers to be aware of the practices used by food companies and to make informed choices about the foods they eat. The food industry has a responsibility to provide safe, healthy, and nutritious options, and to ensure that their products are marketed in a responsible and ethical manner. RHLife’s VIEW
A few years ago, on a warm night in early Summer. I was watching some YouTube channels when I found an interesting medical journalist who was reporting on the problems in the food business and other industries related to the healthy lives of people dependent on a capitalist society. I did some further research about it myself and it seemed like it was true. So, my wife and I decided to make a big change in our diet.
After a month, I was talking to my son about his homework, and he told me that he felt like he had became smarter than before. I realized that he meant to say that he was able to concentrate better. This made me understand the impact our diet and lifestyle had on our health, and it made my day.
Looking back at my past self, I can see a clear improvement in my current health. I feel like I have more energy and resistance against sickness and illness. My concentration has improved and I feel more relaxed and stable overall. We all know that health is important for our life, but we tend to forget it easily, and many people only appreciate health when they are unwell. I regret not paying more attention to my diet earlier on, but I am grateful to have made the changes that have led to my current well-being.
What we changed:
Reduced sugar intake, removal of most highly processed and packaged food and more organic fruits and vegetables promoting an alkaline body.
